That doesn''t mean that I think a good IDE can''t be written in Java. Either way, I agree that they could have been terrible. This could either be from the stand point of bad code-leading to a slow, buggy program-or perhaps it was a poorly thought out GUI that you didn''t get along with. Maybe the IDE''s written in Java that 'are horrible to use' were just poorly written. Java can be written efficently and can be optimized to run quickly. Although I have never written an IDE, I assume it would be easier to develop a decent one written in Java than to obtain a decent framerate in a graphical game written in Java. This being a message board for game development in Java, I assume that most of the readers can program some pretty fast Java code. To specify the command line arguments when you execute a program from JCreator, you must enable this setting. However, I disagree that this is the right tool for the right job, and I am slightly surprised that you would both 1.) be on this message board and 2.) agree that java is slow and unsuitable for intensive tasks. java files you create within JCreator, and the classes directory contains, what else, but the class files.
